Should the Ten Commandments Be Displayed on Public Property?
Panel 2

Jewish Version

I. I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt , out of the house of slavery.

II. You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not make unto thee a graven image, nor any manner of likeness, of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; You shall not bow down nor serve them.

III. You shall not take the name of Yahweh your God in vain; for Yahweh will not hold him guiltless that takes His name in vain.

IV. Remember the sabbath day to keep it holy. Six days shall you labor, and do all your work. But the seventh day is the sabbath . . . on it you shall not do any work. . . .

V. Honor your father and your mother.

VI. You shall not murder.

VII. You shall not commit adultery.

VIII. You shall not steal.

IX. You shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor.

X. You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; your neighbor’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is your neighbor’s.
