Brian Schmisek Brian Schmisek is the Director of the Institute for Religious and Pastoral Studies at the University of Dallas. Brian holds a doctorate in Biblical Studies from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. He also holds Masters degrees in Classics from The University of Mississippi and Theology from The Catholic University of America. Since becoming Director in May of 2002, the graduate student body at IRPS has quadrupled. Under his direction the IRPS has begun a Biblical School, this year attracting more than 270 participants. Brian’s most recent position was Director of the Greco Institute for the Diocese of Shreveport, in Louisiana. Before that, he served as the pastoral assistant at Christ the King Parish in Evergreen, Colorado. Brian, a North Dakota native, and his wife, Marnie, a Shreveport native, have three children—7-year-old twins, John and Clare, and 4-year-old Peter.
